A2 Hosting Vs GoDaddy 2020

A2Hosting is a US based hosting company that specializes in WordPress website hosting. They offer affordable prices, a stable hosting environment, and execelent support.

GoDaddy is the largest domain name registrar, so it’s only natural that they offer web hosting to go with it.

Current Pricing: $3.92
Current Pricing: $3.99 – $29.99 per month

It's pretty easy to compare GoDaddy and A2 Hosting because, even though their pricing is similar, one is MUCH better than the other. GoDaddy web hosting has many problems. Sure it is convenient to order, especially if you already have your domain names registered with them, but my experience is that WordPress runs extremely SLOW. It's caused by 2 things, they don't let you upgrade the PHP version to 7 and they choke the memory available to your website. Not only will your website load slower, there will be numerous problems with different WordPress themes and plugins that need more memory. A2 Hosting doesn't suffer from any of these problems, thank goodness. And they also offer free SSL certificates for additional savings. So basically anyone would be crazy to host a website with GoDaddy, so A2 Hosting wins this comparison easily.

A2 Hosting Pros

  • Uses SSD Drives
  • Free SSL Certificate
  • US Based Support

GoDaddy Pros

  • Phone Support Available

A2 Hosting Cons

A2Hosting is slightly more expensive than other shared hosting, but they more than makeup for it with higher quality hosting.

GoDaddy Cons

My personal experience with GoDaddy is that they have very low-quality servers that are overloaded with customers. This leads to slow websites.

Another huge negative is they force your WordPress websites to user their caching plugin which causes all sorts of problems and will break any dynamic website features such as shopping carts, membership areas, and WooCommerce.
