Current Pricing: $149 – $299

Sensei vs LifterLMS is an easy competition. There is almost no comparison here because you are comparing an innovative LMS that is actively being developed in LifterLMS to an almost abandoned side project in Sensei. LifterLMS is also much less expensive and full-featured. It will work perfectly with most themes out of the box and has special integrations with Beaver Builder and Divi. Sensei is just more of a “me too” product that WooThemes is not committed to. So this was an easy comparison, LifterLMS for the win.

LifterLMS Pros

  • Core Plugin Is Free
  • Beaver Builder & Divi Integration
  • Drag / Drop Course Builder
  • WooCommerce Integration

Sensei Pros

  • WooCommerce Integrated
  • Question Bank
  • Manual Quiz Grading

LifterLMS Cons

  • Extensions Get Very Expensive
  • Lacks Modern Front End Design
  • Performance Issues On Larger Site *Mine

Sensei Cons

Sensei does not integrate well with 99% of WordPress themes. So if you are not a developer/coder, you will have a tough time getting it to work right with your theme.

Also, it requires WooCommerce and several expensive extensions to function properly. This makes the total cost 3x higher per year.

It’s quite easy to add the course content to your website, but there are more moving parts to get it to look decent on the front end.

You can’t argue that the free version is a compelling value, but if you need to sell your courses it gets expensive really quick.
