GoDaddy Vs InMotion Hosting 2019

GoDaddy is the largest domain name registrar, so it’s only natural that they offer web hosting to go with it.

Cloudways in a managed cloud server service where you choose the cloud provider and Cloudways connects their platform to it which makes it incredibly easy to manage. You pay a small monthly premium vs going direct in exchange for the management platform and support when you need it.

Current Pricing: $3.99 – $29.99 per month
Current Pricing: $11 And Up

GoDaddy is universally regarded and one of the worst web hosting providers. Unfortunately, can confirm that this is the case. I do understand that it is very convenient to buy hosting with GoDaddy since you may already have your domain name registered there. InMotion Hosting will provide a much more superior experience all around and at a lower cost. InMotion Hosting provides 24/7 phone support to help you when you need it. Also with InMotion Hosting, you get free SSL certificates where with GoDaddy you will be paying $50 per certificate per year. In this comparison, the recommendation goes to InMotion.

GoDaddy Pros

  • Phone Support Available

Cloudways Pros

  • Choose From 5 Cloud Hosting Services
  • Insanely Fast Servers
  • Easy To Use Control Panel
  • 24/7 Support & Live Chat
  • Free SSL Certificates

  • Free WordPress Caching Plugin

GoDaddy Cons

My personal experience with GoDaddy is that they have very low-quality servers that are overloaded with customers. This leads to slow websites.

Another huge negative is they force your WordPress websites to user their caching plugin which causes all sorts of problems and will break any dynamic website features such as shopping carts, membership areas, and WooCommerce.

Cloudways Cons

  • Doesn’t Include Email Hosting
  • Lacks File Manager
  • Support Can Be Technical
  • Can’t Register a Domain Name
  • Bigger Server Means a Bigger Fee
  • Multisite SSL Limited To 100 Sites

Ease Of Use

The service is extremely easy to use, but you have to understand certain technical things for a smoother experience.

While the normal servers are an incredible value, as you scale your server up, the premium you pay also goes up and can get pricy.

Support

Support

In the past Cloudways support needed improvement, but over the first half of 2019, I have experienced a huge improvement with their support.
