  1. Yoast SEO is a WordPress plug-in designed to help you improve some of the most important on-page SEO factors–even if you aren’t experienced with Web development and SEO. This plug-in takes care of everything from setting up your meta titles and descriptions to creating a sitemap. Yoast even helps you tackle the more complex tasks like editing your robots.txt and .htaccess.
Some of the settings may seem a little complex if you’re new to SEO and WordPress.

  2. Great tip. I switched from All in one SEO to Yoast as they seem to be constantly improving and optimizing the plugin.

  3. I just added yoast seo. The default for Author archives = disabled. It makes sense, don’t index what is already in the blog for a single author blog. But, it broke my About Me page. It redirected that page to my Home page. Probably because in my theme, it’s tied to my user/author in WordPress.

I seem to have fixed the issue by setting Author archives = Enabled and also setting Show Author Archives in Search results = NO.

Is that technically the same thing as setting Author Archives = Disabled.

    Thanks
    Stacey
