Hey guys, I'm hoping the community can help me with this one. I have a site using the ‘Astra' theme with Elementor page builder (both free versions). Two of the pages are password protected to hide secure data for a specific group of users.  I am having an issue where on certain devices (namely iPad via Safari and Chrome browsers) after entering the correct password the site reloads to the home page without granting access. I have tried deactivating plugins, changed the theme, cleared cache (also at Cloudflare) but the problem is still there.

    Any ideas? thanks in advance

Wow this is an odd one. So you are using the native WordPress feature to password protect a page. Then you are giving this password to certain users so they can see the page contents.

But when a user tries this in certain browsers, instead of showing the content it redirects them to the homepage of your website?

If that is the case, there are no easy answers. I would look into using a membership plugin. There are several free ones if cost is an issue.

    Hey Adam,

Thank you for your suggestions. I believe that I have managed to resolve the issue. After several emails back and forth I made a suggestion for the user to clear his browsing history and cache. He has now reported that he is able to view the page. I'm currently using WP Fastest Cache, do you know if there are any settings I should be looking at to minimise this issue for the future?

    Thanks again,

I would suggest disabling cache on pages you want to protect with a password if the caching plugin is not intelligent enough to do that automatically on password-protected pages.
