I am getting a message on the dashboard of my website saying I need to update the site's PHP version. I've tried updating PHP through cPanel but when I update to a more recent version, it makes my site disappear and the only way I've found to bring it back is to roll back the PHP to an earlier version. Previously, I ran PHP Compatibility Checker and found out my theme is incompatible with recent versions of PHP. I set up a staging site and downloaded a couple of additional themes, activating one of them on the staging site. Currently, I'm running PHP Compatibility Checker on the staging site and the scan has been hung for several hours about one-fourth of the way through scanning my plugins. Is there another WordPress plugin that does the same thing as PHP Compatibility Checker in a more time efficient manner? Thanks for any help/advice.
